''If you’re of a Nebbiolo kind of mind, this is about as exquisite as value gets. It’s a wine of finer details, no broad strokes allowed. It’s devilishly good.'' 93 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
Borgo Maragliano La Caliera Moscato d’Asti DOCG 2016
The unusual and distinctive vine produces a full-bodied, robust and velvety Moscato d’Asti. The intense aroma carries a fragrance of candied fruit, acacia flowers and a typical musky but delicate bouquet. Its scent of “violet” is quite unique.
The bouquet is reminiscent of exotic fruits, matured pears, hawthorn and acacia honey. In the mouth it is warm, velvety, with a nice acidity level, giving the wine freshness and a long lasting aftertaste.
Vibrant aromas of black currants, black tea and hints of smoke. Brisk and lively in the mouth, the wine conveys a core of chewy cherry, loganberry, and cassis fruit before transitioning to a long finish.
